What time can I check in and what time is check out?
Check in is at 1:00 pm. on arrival day. Check out is at 11:00 am on departure day.

What is the policy for cancelling a reservation?
Non-seasonal Refund Policy: 25% cancellation fee and 75% refund if cancellation is received 14 days prior to arrival for reservations during the months of April thru November.

Seasonal Refund Policy: 25% cancellation fee and 75% refund if cancellation is received 30 days prior to arrival for reservations during the months of December through March.

Cancellations received without the required notice will result in forfeiture of deposit. Camping is an outdoor experience. As such, we do not give refunds due to the discomfort of nature or for early departures. NO exceptions.

Why don’t you confirm specific campsites?
A confirmed campsite reservation guarantees an RV campsite for the dates specified at the time your reservation is made, but not for a specific campsite. We do encourage early reservations and we do make every effort to accommodate requests and site preferences. We will do our best to accommodate you; however, we are unable to guarantee a specific site. We do not release site assignments until the day of arrival. We reserve the right to move guests in order to maximize the use of the park. Park management takes many factors into consideration when assigning sites. Our first priority is keeping families & groups together. We also consider guests’ length of stay, handicap accessibility, and lengths of RV units. We will do our best to honor your requests. Your deposit guarantees you a type of site, not a specific site. We will only guarantee a specific site if a guest is able to commit to a 3+ month stay with us. Special consideration will be given to guests staying January 1 through April 1.

Can we request a specific campsite? 
A: You sure can, but please remember that specific sites are not guaranteed on stays less then 3 months. This means that you can request a certain site, but it is subject to change.

Do you offer onsite Storage?
Yes, we do offer storage of your boat or camper by the month in our storage lot. The price is dependent on the length of your recreational vehicle and ranges from $25 - $100 per month plus applicable state tax.

Are you allowed to fish on your piers?
Yes, as a resident or guest you are allowed to fish from our marina with a valid Florida Saltwater fishing license.

Do I need to bring towels and linens if I'm staying in a rental unit?
All of our rental units are configured differently to accommodate different types of groups. Some have double beds, some have twin beds and some have futons in the living rooms for additional sleeping options. All of our rental units include full kitchens with cookware, dishes, towels & linens. We even provide the coffee maker with filters and coffee plus sugar & creamer. Linens for all the beds/futon and towels are also provided.

What happens if I arrive after the office closes:
If you have made a reservation and plan to arrive after 5 PM please call us the day of your arrival to make arrangements with us. I will leave an envelope on the office door with information for you since you'll be arriving late after the office closes. It will include a map to get to your site and other important information. Please stop in to the office in the morning before 11 AM to sign your registration card.

Is the RV Park pet friendly? Are pets allowed?
Yes, our park is extremely pet friendly. Doggie stations are provided throughout the park for your use and we offer dog cookies in the front office. Well behaved pets are welcome in your own camping unit or in your own RV. We do not allow pets in any of our rental units. Pets must be on a leash while outside. No Rotweillers, Pit Bulls or Dobermans or any mixture thereof is permitted in the park. The pet owner or anyone attending your pet is responsible for the control and cleanup. Please clean up after your pet regardless of where it happens, your site included. Please always carry a plastic bag with you. Please refrain from taking your pets to the following areas: Pavillion building, restrooms, playground and laundry area. The owner is responsible for keeping their pet quiet so as not to disturb others. And please control aggressiveness to other people and other's pets. Pets are to be are not to be left unattended when you are away, unless in your own RV or Camper. You are to accompany your pet at all times when outside. Pets cannot be tied up and left unattended.

Do you have a minimum number of nights stay?
Generally no, except Everglades Seafood Festival weekend (2nd weekend in February) when a 3-night minimum is imposed.

Do you allow tent camping?
We use our entire RV park for tent sites. Other than site 77 which does not have sewer and therefore a perfect spot for a tent; any site can be assigned to a tenter. We do not release specific site numbers until the day of arrival. All of our tent sites are the same price and accomodate 1 tent and 1 vehicle.

Do you offer WIFI and is it FREE?
We have a couple of options for internet here at Chokoloskee Island Park. We have an access code for you to use in the Rec Room area. Just ask for that upon check-in and you can use that service through our office. However, because we are in a remote area it is basic. It is good for basic internet searching but is not the best when it comes to downloading large items such as vieos or movies. Also you can purchase internet on a daily basis through an independent provider through a Hotspot and use it at your campsite. That will pop up on your browser and give you the option to purchase with a credit card.

Do you have full hook-ups?
Each of our sites feature: water, sewer, cable TV, and 30 amp electric. Extended stay rates (over 30 nights) are plus metered electric.

What do you consider an RV?
Our definition of an RV (Recreational Vehicle) is a camping unit designed for road travel that is equipped with factory installed beds and at least two land-to-vehicle service connections (electric, water, or sewer) with electric being one of the two. For example, a travel trailer, fifth wheel, RV motor home, motor coach, custom private bus, folding camper/pop-up, truck (pickup) camper and camper van are considered to be an RV.

A mini-van is not considered a camper van unless it meets the above criteria. In addition, we do not allow boats with cabins and hookups, to be used as RVs. If you do not have an RV as listed above, consider staying in one of our vacation rentals, a smart alternative to local hotels.

How far in advance should I make a reservation for an RV site?
We recommend making a reservation at least 8 weeks prior to your arrival date (16 weeks for holiday weekends: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Americade Week, and Columbus Day). However, we encourage campers to check availability with the park office even if your lead time is less than this.

Where is the nearest beach?
Marco Island has 2 public beaches and is about 45 minute drive away.

Can I have a campfire?
We offer a fire pit near the chickee for all campers to use. We also allow a campfire on your site if you bring a portable firepit.P lease bring your own fire wood.

Are you a membership resort? How long can I stay?
No. We are non-membership and non-ownership. We offer daily, weekly, and extended stay rates. There are no restrictions on your length of stay however if you'd like to keep your RV onsidte permanently you would be subject to a background check.

Do you offer discounts like Good Sam, military, AARP, or Passport America?
We offer 10% discounts off of our daily rate during our peak season for: AAA and Good Sam. A valid ID card must be presented at check-in to obtain these discounts. Offers may not be combined and do not apply to any other discounted rates.

Do you have a laundry facility?
Yes, we have remodeled on-site laundry facilities. The machines are coin operated and we have quarters at the store if you need them. Please do not begin a load after 9 PM as you will not have time to finish. All park facilities are locked up at 10 PM.

What attractions do you have close by?
Our park is waterfront and provides easy access to the 10,000 Islands and Gulf of Mexico. Chokoloskee Island Park is a uniquely quiet park with the major emphasis on fishing. There are no beaches here but several within easy driving distance of 45 minutes away. (Marco Island and Naples). We are surrounded by the National Everglades Park so nature abounds. There are airboats and other boat tours nearby for people to experience the park from the water. We are a part of Old Florida (quiet and undeveloped) that most people treasure. It is quiet and peaceful here and the sunsets are gorgeous. Our community is friendly and hosts a social each night at the Chickee hut as well as other activities throughout the year.

Do you have a public boat ramp?
Yes, we do and charge the following daily rates: $20 motor boat and $10 kayak / canoe. The use of our boat ramp is free for our camping guests.

Do you offer boat slips to the general public?
No, unfortunately we only allow our guests to rent boat slips in our marina. See Marina pages for fees and services.

Do you offer overnight parking?
We do offer overnight parking for $15 a night if you want to do that and have it close to launch from the marina. Also we have a public boat ramp and sell live bait and tackle. If you'd like to arrange overnight parking please give us a call to make arrangements.

What is the difference between a basic slip and a premium slip?
We have 2 types of slips:
Premium – 1) outer edge of the marina (numbered slips)rent for $15 including tax per night
Basic – 2) inside of the marina (lettered slips) rent for $5 including tax per night.

A Basic inside slip works best for small flats boats as the water here is very shallow. The Premium outside slips are easier to get in and out of and are in deeper water.

When you make the 1st reservation with us we may not be sure what will work best for your boat so we wait to make that reservation until you get here. We can set up that reservation and take payment for that upon your arrival.

Do you sell bait?
Yes, we sell live shrimp as well as various frozen bait (mullet; shrimp; squid; chum). We also carry some artificial tackle and fishing supplies.

Do you sell fishing licenses?
No, we do not sell fishing licenses in our Marina Store. Florida Fishing Licenses can be purchased online at

What do you sell in the store?
We offer bagged ice; cold beverages, including beer; snacks and souvenirs as well as shirts of all types. We also have a selection of camping items (sewer hoses; citronella candles; bug repellent) as well as fishing gear.

Do you accept tent camping and do you have a separate area for tents?
Yes, we are the only campground in this immediate area that offers tent camping. We have great amenities to offer like a kitchenette; big screen TV with cablevision; and a very clean bath house. The tent sites are on the RV park and not in a separate area. All sites offer water and electric. You will need to bring an electrical plug to convert our 30 amp service to 110 volt extension cord. Are you close to shopping and dining?
Chokoloskee offers a great dining experience in the Havana Cafe which operates during the tourist season (mid Oct through mid April). They offer a Cuban American fusion menu that has become a destination restaurant for the area.
Everglades City offers several dining options with hours that vary depending on the time of year you visit. Check in with the camp office to get an updated Dining Guide or view it online at The Mullet Rapper (our local newspaper) The Mullet Rapper is a great resource for information on the area.
Shopping is limited in the area to Right Choice Supermarket; Win Car True Value Hardware; and a couple of convenience stores. Naples and Marco Island offer lots of shopping options and are an easy day drive away.

Do you offer on-site rentals?
Yes, we have 1 and 2 bedroom rentals for those campers who do not have a trailer/RV and want to experience the camping lifestyle. All of our rental units are configured differently to accommodate different types of groups. Some have double beds, some have twin beds and some have futons in the living rooms for additional sleeping options. All of our rental units include full kitchens with cookware, dishes, towels & linens. We even provide the coffee maker with filters and coffee plus sugar & creamer. Can we use your facilities but camp on the 10,000 Islands?
Yes – We have many facilities that will help you with your camping trip into the Everglades National Park. Many boaters use our boat ramp to gain access to the national park waters. Boat ramp day use costs $10 for canoe launch or $20 for powerboat launch. We also offer overnight parking for $15.00 per vehicle. Our park has security lighting and is regularly visited by law enforcement to keep our property safe. Also we offer showers for $2.50 per person. Many will spend their first and/or last night camping in our campground with trips in between camping on the islands.

Tent camping is very inexpensive and offers great amenities here at Chokoloskee Island park. Amenities include a very clean bath house facility; kitchenette and big screen TV in the Pavilion building; electricity and water on each site.
